Eastfield Nursery – Wolverhampton
This council-run nursery extension was designed to create additional early years spaces for the growing Eastfield community — providing a warm, calming interior and a strong connection to the outdoors.
Inside, the space is lined with poplar timber cladding and finished with an acoustic Troldtekt ceiling for sound control. A standout detail is the use of Organoid dried flower wallpaper, adding natural texture, gentle scent, and a unique sensory richness rarely found in educational settings. Large sliding doors flood the rooms with daylight and encourage a seamless flow between inside and out — promoting movement, play, and a stronger connection to nature.
Constructed using a timber frame system tailored specifically to site and client requirements, the building also incorporates solar panels to support long-term sustainability and reduce operational costs.
A thoughtful, nature-connected extension that balances practicality, creativity, and environmental care for the Eastfield community.
