Project Overview

This vibrant, purpose-built day nursery was designed to support early years learning in a fun, welcoming environment. Created for Tops Day Nursery on the Isle of Wight, the building combines playful design with purposeful construction to deliver a space that feels inspiring from the very first glance.

The Brief

Tops Day Nursery required a bespoke early years building that could support children’s growth and development while creating a strong visual identity. The design needed to feel cheerful and engaging for young learners, while remaining practical, durable, and suitable for long-term everyday use.

The project also needed to be delivered efficiently despite the challenges associated with a remote island location.

The Solution

We designed and delivered a bespoke nursery building featuring bold geometric forms and colourful cladding panels, creating an instantly recognisable and playful exterior.

Internally, the space is filled with natural light, soft edges, and age-appropriate features that support learning, movement, and exploration. The layout and material choices were carefully considered to create a safe, stimulating environment that meets the needs of both children and staff.

Despite the logistical challenges of the Isle of Wight location, the project was delivered to the same high standards as mainland builds - demonstrating our ability to provide bespoke educational spaces across the UK.

The Outcome

The completed nursery provides a bright, engaging environment that supports early years development while giving Tops Day Nursery a distinctive, joyful presence. The combination of playful design and robust construction ensures the building is both inspiring and practical, creating a space where children feel excited, safe, and supported.
