Project Overview

The Air Wave is a bespoke, calming hub designed for Elysium Healthcare to support patients, families, and staff. Created as a welcoming, non-clinical environment, the building provides a safe space for connection, creativity, and wellbeing within the hospital setting.

The Brief

Elysium Healthcare required a dedicated space where patients and their families could spend quality time together in an environment that felt uplifting rather than institutional. The building needed to support therapeutic activity, encourage creativity, and foster a sense of community - all while blending sensitively into its healthcare surroundings.

The Solution

We designed and delivered a bespoke facility that combines soft curves, natural materials, and carefully considered interior finishes to create a warm, open atmosphere.

A defining feature of the project is a fully equipped recording studio, now home to the hospital’s own radio station. This unique space provides patients with an outlet for creativity and self-expression, offering opportunities for storytelling, music, and shared experiences that go beyond traditional healthcare environments.

Throughout the building, the layout and material choices were carefully developed to ensure the space feels safe, inclusive, and distinctly non-clinical.

The Outcome

The completed Air Wave hub provides Elysium Healthcare with a powerful therapeutic resource that supports wellbeing, creativity, and connection. By offering a space that feels calm, inspiring, and community-focused, the building plays a meaningful role in enhancing patient experience and strengthening relationships between patients, families, and staff.
